Troubleshooting and Setup of Orbi Mesh Satellite

Checking Power and Placement of Orbi Mesh Satellite

Check that router is connected to your modem properly by the Ethernet cable. Check that your Ethernet cable is not damaged or cut from anywhere. Be very particular about the placing the satellites. If the satellite is too far from the router it won’t connect to the router. Do not place your router or satellites near any other electronic devices such as cordless phones microwave or anything such as this. Ensure that your router is having a solid white light on, which indicates that your router is functioning properly. Firmware Update

If your firmware is out of date you need to update it. As sometimes due an outdated version also your Orbi doesn’t work properly. To update your firmware follow these steps.

  1. Pair your mobile device to the Orbi router WiFi network.
  2. Open your Orbi app.
  3. Enter the admin information such as your admin user name which is your email id and the password. That would be mentioned on your router’s label or on the user manual.
  4. The main page opens on the screen click on the menu icon.
  5. Then click on settings>router settings tab.
  6. Go down and click on check for updates. If it shows that you need to update the firmware do it.
  7. Follow the instruction on the screen to update your firmware.
  8. After the update is complete check the new firmware update carefully, as many features could be new or changed.

Reset and Reboot of Orbi Mesh Satellite

Sometimes some of the problem could be done by only resetting your router to do it follow these steps;

  1. You need to locate the reset button at the back of the router.
  2. By using a pin or any such kind of object press that button.
  3. Press until the LED light start to blink.
  4. Once done, connect your router to the modem and to the router.

Let’s do the reboot of the modem and the router once. Follow these steps to do it;

  1. Unplug your modem from the socket.
  2. Wait for few seconds and put the plug back in the power socket and turn it on.
  3. On the other hand, take out the adapter from the socket and wait for few seconds.
  4. Plug back the adapter in the socket and turn it.
  5. Connect the modem and Orbi router by the Ethernet cable.
